Uber Credit Card Review

Uber Credit Card Review

The Uber Visa Credit Card is becoming the “Uber Credit Card” in Feb 2020

The Uber Visa was my go-to credit card due to the amazing cash back reward structure:

  • 4% cash back on bars and restaurants

  • 3% cash back on travel

  • 2% cash back on ALL online purchases (even paying utilities online)

  • $50 subscription credit

  • All rewards can be redeemed as cash back to your statement (pay off your card with cash back)

Sneaky, sneaky… Uber launched their original credit card back in November 2017 and less than two years later has made major changes to their reward system. Users can no longer use Cash Back rewards and all point will now become UBER CASH REWARDS - that can only be redeemed for purchases from Uber services. Hmmm, I can’t help but think that this was all sort of some master plan, but who am I to make such accusations?

In 2020, you will see the following changes:

  • 5% “UBER CASH” on UBER PURCHASES

  • 4% cash back on food/drink

  • 3% “UBER CASH” on travel/dining

  • 2% cash back on all online purchases

  • $50 annual credit for subscriptions

  • $600 Telephone Protection Plan

  • Redeem cash back “UBER CASH”

If you have this card and do not use Uber regularly, I would suggest moving purchases to another card that maximizes cash back rewards to your own personal spending habits. I will be doing research on the best options for my spending habits and will share in another post.
